Stanky and Stinky were strutting the streets of downtown Chico Friday, spreading the message that nobody wants to look at cigarette butts.
Storm drains flow into streams and creeks, where butts gunk up the water and harm wildlife. The cost to clean up after smokers also adds up.
The cylindrical duo were a hit with people lingering in front of bars and coffee shops who were offered pocket ashtrays. Others took out their cellphones to snap pictures with the cigarette superheroes.
